Wardner no Mori (Japan, bootleg) is an exact registered version in this game family. Wardner sends a small hero after a kidnapped companion through monster-filled platforms and traps. Gold and orbs provide help along the way, while the weapon display shows both the selected attack and its power level. That power is retained when changing weapons, and improves firing speed rather than simply increasing the force of a single shot. Watch the next trap before chasing a reward, and use a clear section to learn the current firing rhythm before the route closes around another group of monsters.
