How to Play DownTown / Mokugeki (joystick hack)
Quick start
- Start and move your character through the streets.
- Use the rotation control to face nearby enemies.
- Attack with Punch or Kick.
- Reposition and turn as opponents approach from different directions.
Controls
Directional control: move. Rotary facing control: turn the fighter independently of movement. Punch: punch. Kick: kick. The original cabinet uses a rotary joystick; use the emulator’s configured rotation or facing bindings rather than assuming a keyboard or standard controller layout.

DownTown / Mokugeki (joystick hack) is an exact registered version in this game family. DownTown follows two public officials fighting through a city overrun by gang members and corrupt police. Its overhead action uses punching and kicking rather than a conventional side-view fighting layout. Movement and facing require separate attention because the original rotary control lets the fighter turn independently. Position yourself around nearby opponents, turn toward the threat and use the appropriate attack as you work toward confronting the gang’s boss. Version-specific changes to characters, stages, timing, difficulty, balance, graphics or hidden content are not inferred where the registration does not document them.
