How to Play The Legend of Kage (bootleg set 1)
Quick start
- Watch the first enemies before moving into their attack paths.
- Use high jumps and trees to reach a safer position.
- Fight at range with throwing stars and use the sword when necessary.
- Continue through the moat and castle while checking each landing.
Controls
Use the eight-way joystick to move; an upward direction initiates the jump. The two action buttons operate the sword and shuriken. Ground shuriken travel left or right, while airborne throws can use other directions. Choose the jump direction before takeoff because its course cannot be freely changed in the air. The sword can intercept some attacks, but not every hazard.
The Legend of Kage (bootleg set 1) — About this game
Kage must rescue Princess Kiri by fighting through forests, a moat and the castle itself. His unusually high leaps and ability to climb trees make vertical movement a central part of the journey. Throwing stars deal with threats at a distance, while the sword is useful when enemies get close. Enemy attacks are dangerous enough that simply pushing forward is unreliable: choose a landing place before jumping and watch the space around it. Completing the sequence brings changing seasons and another, tougher round of the rescue adventure.
