Quick start
- Throw the lance and learn its reach and the feel of jumping.
- Watch enemy appearances, move somewhere safe and fire.
- Compare a weapon pickup’s path with your current weapon before collecting it.
- After losing armor, check the next platform and enemy positions before advancing.
Controls
Use the four-way joystick to move and climb ladders. A throws the weapon and B jumps. Collecting a weapon changes its shot behavior. Check landings within the original jump’s reach; do not rely on a double jump or the magic of later games.
Makaimura (Japan revision B bootleg) — About this game
Guide the knight Arthur through a side-scrolling quest to rescue a princess abducted by monsters. Lances, daggers, torches and other thrown weapons differ in speed and path, so consider the next enemies before replacing your weapon. A hit removes Arthur’s armor; another hit while unarmored costs a life. Learn where enemies appear and fire from safe footing, since even a little damage makes the journey harder. Graveyards and buildings hold ambushes as well as monsters that suddenly appear and pursue you. Start by drawing enemies out, then attacking, and check each landing rather than rushing ahead. Reaching the end leads into a second circuit, where weapon choices still matter.
