How to Play Pop Breaker
Quick start
Choose 1 PLAY and leave the password at 0000 for the first stage. Confirm with PAUSE, select Diana’s turret position and inspect the map. Press 1 to leave LOOK mode, line up safely and fire.
Controls
D-pad: turn and move in four directions. 1: shoot while stationary. Hold 2: reverse without turning; 1 can fire while reversing. PAUSE: confirm, pause or resume; single-player pause allows map inspection. Paused 1+2 restarts the stage at the cost of a life and resets equipment. The original Game Gear START function uses PAUSE on Master System. At the title, 1+2 also begins; while paused, 1+2 activates self-destruct.
Pop Breaker — About this game
This GG2SMS edition adapts Pop Breaker for Sega Master System hardware. Pop Breaker combines overhead tank action with deliberate map solving. Diana turns before moving in a new direction, and ordinary movement prevents shooting, so you must stop to line up a shot. Holding the reverse button keeps the tank facing forward while backing away and allows firing during that retreat. Choose a left, centre or right turret position at the start; its alignment changes how you approach tight firing lanes. Breakable blocks have different strengths, mirrors turn shots at right angles, and mines make careless movement costly. Inspect the map in LOOK mode before beginning and revisit it while paused in single-player. Think about the path of the shell and your retreat route before opening fire.
