How to Play Tails' Sky Patrol
Quick start
Press START at the title and practice in the training area. Up/Down changes height, Right dashes and Left slows. Press 1 or 2 to throw the ring; hold for a spinning ring. Use candy to restore power and bells as checkpoints.
Controls
Pad: Up/Down rise/fall; Right dash, Left slow, diagonals combine height and speed. 1 or 2: throw ring; Up/Down also aims it diagonally. Hold 1 or 2: spin ring to avoid grabbing items/devices. Tap rapidly after a hit to recover; press to detach from cart/weight devices. START: pause/score.

Tails' Sky Patrol for Game Gear keeps Tails airborne while the scenery scrolls forward. Change height, dash ahead or slow down, but remember that slowing does not let you fly backward. The ring serves as a weapon, a way to collect items and a tool for interacting with mechanisms. Holding an action button spins it around Tails so you can pass an item or device without grabbing it. After a hit, rapid button presses can recover from the fall if you still have power and enough height. Collect candy to refill the power gauge and ring bells for restart points. Begin in the training area and learn when to release a ride before it carries you into danger.
