How to Play 1500 DS Spirits Vol. 2 - Shougi
Quick start
Choose a solo match and review the board orientation. Select one of your pieces and inspect its legal destinations. Start by developing pieces and protecting the king. Read promotion and drop prompts carefully before confirming a move.
Controls
Touch a board piece and its destination to move. To drop, select a piece from your captured-piece reserve and choose a legal empty square. Confirm or cancel the promotion prompt when it appears. Check the move before committing it.
1500 DS Spirits Vol. 2 - Shougi — About this game
Shogi is a contest to trap the opposing king, with captured pieces becoming resources of your own. Move each piece according to its pattern, protect your king and look for chances to promote in the enemy zone. A captured piece can be dropped back onto an empty square under the legal drop rules, so removing an attacker does not remove it from the game. Watch both the board and the pieces in hand when judging threats. Build a defense before sending everything forward, then use coordinated attacks rather than relying on a single valuable piece.
