Quick start
Choose a solo opponent, review which color you play and start by developing a piece. Check whether the king is threatened before each move. Confirm legal destinations and read promotion prompts when a pawn reaches the last rank.
Controls
Touch a piece and its legal destination, then confirm if requested. Use the promotion choice when shown. Castling is selected through the legal king move offered by the interface; existing pieces are never placed arbitrarily.
1500 DS Spirits Vol. 7 - Chess — About this game
Chess rewards coordinated pieces rather than captures alone. Pawns establish space while knights and bishops develop, rooks need open lines and the king must stay safe. A move that wins material can still fail if it leaves a mating attack. Read the opponent's reply before committing a piece, and distinguish check from checkmate: a checked king can escape only through a legal response. Promotion gives an advancing pawn a new role, while castling follows its own safety conditions. Start a solo game at a comfortable level and use each turn to connect your plan with the position on the board.
