How to Play 8 Eyes
Quick start
Select one or two players, choose Initiate, and begin with Spain: the starting sword is intended for a country near France and the walkthrough confirms Spain as the practical opener. At the castle entrance, strike the switch beside the torch to open the gate. Inside, use Cutrus to probe suspicious wall sections and collect every clue scroll; the clues are required after the eighth castle. Fight patiently at sword range, recall the falcon between short attacks, and save item power for the boss. Each victory replaces your sword, so use the newly earned blade to determine the next castle rather than choosing randomly.
Controls
D-Pad Left/Right: walk; Up/Down: use stairs. A: jump. B: stab with Orin's sword. Up+B: release or recall Cutrus. Down+B while Cutrus is flying: order a falcon attack. Up+A: use the selected special weapon if item power remains. Select: cycle special weapons; on the map, show collected clues. Start: pause or enter the highlighted level. In two-player mode, Controller 1 handles Orin while Controller 2 moves Cutrus freely with its D-Pad and uses the falcon commands.
8 Eyes — About this game
8 Eyes is a post-apocalyptic NES action game in which Orin the Falconer and Cutrus infiltrate eight castles to recover the jewels that once helped rebuild the world. The first seven countries may be selected freely, but every duke is vulnerable to one particular sword, making the order of completion a central puzzle. Players also search walls for power-ups, operate timed door switches, and collect clue scrolls needed to place the jewels at the final altar. A second player can take direct control of Cutrus for asymmetric cooperative play.
