How to Play Advance Wars: Days of Ruin
Quick start
Open Single DS Play → Campaign → New Game and follow the early mission tutorials. Touch an allied unit, choose a reachable square, then select the available action; examine enemy reach before committing. Infantry can capture properties, so use them to secure income where the mission permits. End Turn in the map menu hands control to the opponent. Choose Save there to keep a midbattle position; cleared maps save automatically.
Controls
Use the stylus to select a unit, its destination and its action. Fire attacks a valid target; Capture appears for eligible infantry on property, and Wait ends that unit’s action. Tap Menu to view mission conditions, Save and End Turn. Zoom and the unit-status control change the battlefield view and upper-screen information. Button play also supports D-pad cursor movement, A confirmation and B cancellation. This is turn-based: finish the necessary orders before ending the day.
Advance Wars: Days of Ruin — About this game
A meteor catastrophe leaves scattered survivors fighting over a broken world. This campaign brings a new cast and military units to the series’ grid-based battles, where income, terrain cover and weapon range govern every decision. Capturing property supplies the funds for reinforcements, while fog of war makes reconnaissance a practical necessity. As the campaign develops, a commanding officer can board a unit and influence the surrounding CO Zone. Individual units also gain levels through victories, giving experienced troops value worth protecting. Trial maps and custom-map tools extend the tactical possibilities beyond the story.
