How to Play Adventure Time: Hey Ice King! Why'd You Steal Our Garbage?!!
Quick start
In Finn and Jake's house, walk left and climb down the ladder. Go right and speak to BMO to enter the Secret Basement. Move through the short lesson, breaking teacups with the attacks. Back upstairs, continue down, talk to NEPTR about attributes and leave the house. Go left outside and use A at the fountain to save before exploring the Grass Lands.
Controls
DS controls: D-pad moves, up enters doors/climbs and down crouches or drops through thin floors. A talks, checks and opens chests; B jumps; down+B slides. Y attacks with Finn, X attacks with Jake. START/SELECT pauses. Double-tap an inventory item to use it, or hold L to select and L+A to use. Jake's R-button shield/umbrella and other advanced forms require later unlocks.

Ice King has stolen Finn and Jake's garbage, giving the pair an absurd reason to explore the Land of Ooo. Travel happens on an overhead world map, while villages, encounters and dungeons become side-scrolling areas. Finn's attacks work alongside Jake's stretchy reach, and new abilities gradually open routes that were previously blocked. BMO provides inventory functions on the lower screen, including food and other useful items. Wizard Stars improve your attributes, so exploration has a lasting payoff beyond each fight. The adventure begins with simple moves and a basement lesson; forms such as Jake's bridge and umbrella belong to later progress rather than the initial moveset.
