How to Play Adventures of Dino Riki
Quick start
Stay near the lower third of the screen so approaching enemies and gaps remain visible, and fire B steadily rather than waiting for targets to get close. Collect matching weapon tiles to build toward the broader fire attack. Press A early when a pit or river scrolls into view; late jumps often land short. When a Bird tile appears, take it and hold A to maintain flight across unsafe ground, but move toward a safe central landing area before the transformation expires. Against bosses, make small sideways adjustments and keep shooting instead of circling into additional projectiles.
Controls
D-Pad: move Riki in eight directions. B: fire the currently equipped rock, axe, boomerang or fire weapon. A: jump over terrain hazards; after collecting a Bird tile, hold A to keep flying for the transformation's duration. Start: pause and resume. Select has no normal gameplay function.
Adventures of Dino Riki — About this game
Adventures of Dino Riki is a top-down NES action shooter that pushes Riki through long prehistoric stages filled with dinosaurs, projectiles, pits and waterways. Repeated weapon pickups advance his attack from rocks to axes, boomerangs and fire, while damage can reduce that power. Unlike a typical scrolling shooter, Riki travels on foot and must jump over breaks in the terrain. Bird tiles temporarily let him fly and ignore ground hazards, adding a second use for the jump button. Surviving with an upgraded weapon is especially important because each demanding stage ends in a large boss encounter.
