How to Play Akumajou Special: Boku Dracula-kun

Quick start

Jump with A, shoot a monster bullet with B, and first learn the sense of distance on the first plane. If you hold down B and then release it, you'll get a reserve shot, and defeating enemies will give you coins, so aim aggressively when you're on a safe foothold. After acquiring new abilities, switch them with SELECT and use techniques that suit the terrain. Bat transformation and upside-down walking are not only attacks, but also transportation methods, so review your ability list when you are in a place that seems like a dead end.

Controls

Use the left and right arrow keys to move, use the down button to crouch, and press Up+B and Down+B to attack in a different direction. A is for jump. B is a magical bullet, and if you hold it down and release it, the selected special ability will be activated as a charge. Since you have already acquired it with SELECT, switch the shooting ability and pause/restart with START. In the bonus game, follow the instructions on the screen and use the D-pad and A/B.

Akumajou Special: Boku Dracula-kun — About this game

``Akumajou Special: Boku Dracula-kun'' is an action game for the Famicom that comically depicts the atmosphere of the Akumajou series. Dracula-kun advances through all 9 stages using jumps and ghost bullets, and each time he defeats a boss, he regains his shooting abilities, such as homing bullets, transforming into a bat, and walking upside down. When you defeat enemies by shooting them, coins for the bonus game will appear, giving you the opportunity to increase your remaining lives. It also features highly variable surface configurations such as forced scrolling, underwater, and subway.
