How to Play Alex Rider: Stormbreaker
Quick start
Begin the story as Ian Rider and read the first stage's tutorial messages. Walk through the corridor, hold R only when you need to run, and let stamina recover between encounters. At the first guard, use X/Y attacks and B to block instead of exhausting the stamina bar. Use L with the D-pad to check the camera before entering the guarded courtyard, then follow the objective to the exit.
Controls
DS controls: D-pad moves; hold R to run at a stamina cost. X/Y perform punches and kicks; B blocks. Hold L and use the D-pad to rotate the camera and look around corners. Use the lower-screen cartridge icons for available spy functions and mission information; touch puzzles use the stylus. Running and repeated attacks share the stamina bar, so leave time to recover.

The DS adaptation follows teenage spy Alex Rider as he investigates the scheme behind the Stormbreaker computers. Its missions combine third-person movement, hand-to-hand fights and collecting the items needed to advance an assignment. Running and attacks consume stamina, while encounters also demand attention to a rising caution gauge. Gadgets appear through the touch screen as cartridge-like tools, providing mission information or help with detection. Lock puzzles and other short sequences vary the pace between the main stages. The opening briefly gives you Ian Rider instead of Alex, teaching movement and combat in a guarded building before the younger spy's story takes over. These are the DS game's systems, separate from the overhead GBA adaptation.
