How to Play Alien 3
Quick start
Move quickly from the opening seconds: locate prisoners first, collect ammunition and health only when they do not cause a long detour, and note ladders or doors that form a return route. Press Select to match the weapon to the space ahead. The exit does not finish a normal sector until all required prisoners are rescued, so watch both the prisoner count and timer before committing to the final route.
Controls
D-pad Left/Right moves Ripley; Up climbs ladders or enters doors; Down crouches. A fires the current weapon. B jumps. Select cycles through available weapons. Start pauses and opens the inventory/options display. These assignments are from the NES instruction manual rather than the differently controlled 16-bit versions.
Alien 3 — About this game
Alien 3 for NES turns Fiorina 161 into a set of hostile, maze-like action stages. As Ellen Ripley, the player must locate and release all prisoners shown by the counter, then reach the exit before the sector timer expires. Xenomorphs, facehuggers, hazards, ladders, ducts, and collapsing routes make navigation as important as shooting. Several weapons and limited ammunition can be collected, and Select cycles the active weapon, so conserving stronger firepower while learning prisoner locations is central to surviving later stages.
