How to Play The Magic of Scheherazade
Quick start
Enter the first town, open the assignment screen with START and map Speak to one action button. Talk to everyone before leaving, then keep a weapon on the other button outdoors. Reopen the assignment screen whenever a jump, item or field spell is needed; there is no single best layout. Check the status screen for companions and inventory, explore both eras when a route closes, and copy every chapter password exactly.
Controls
Use the D-Pad to move in four directions. START pauses and opens the operation assignment screen; Up/Down selects the A-button action and Left/Right selects the B-button action. A and B perform their assigned item, spell, weapon, Speak or Jump command. SELECT opens the status and map subscreen. In command battles, the D-Pad moves the cursor, A confirms and advances text, and B cancels.
The Magic of Scheherazade — About this game
The Magic of Scheherazade follows a descendant of the magician Isfa through five Arabian-fantasy worlds. Town exploration and overworld travel play in real time, with swords, rods, spells, items, talking and jumping assigned to the A and B buttons. Certain encounters switch to menu-driven battles where recruited allies, formations and combination attacks matter. Progress involves questioning residents, traveling between past and present, finding Magic Fields and using spells such as Oprin to expose routes. Seasons, eclipses and changing eras can alter what is available, so revisiting a location is often more useful than grinding. Each chapter ends with a password that restores progress from the beginning of the last world.
