How to Play 1943: Battle of Midway (bootleg, hack of Japan set, set 2)

Quick start

  1. Shoot down formations and check the dropped items.
  2. Prioritize energy when low; otherwise choose a weapon.
  3. Destroy gun emplacements on large ships to raise the destruction rate.
  4. Check energy and remaining loops before evading incoming fire.

Controls

Move with the joystick. A fires and B uses Mega Crash, spending energy to clear enemy bullets and attack enemies. A+B performs a limited-use loop. Shooting an item changes its contents, so stop firing when it shows the type you want.

1943: Battle of Midway (bootleg, hack of Japan set, set 2) — About this game

Pilot the P-38 against airborne formations and fleets at sea. Energy management replaces the earlier game’s focus on spare aircraft: time, hits and emergency attacks drain the reserve. Shooting weapon items changes their type, letting you choose between the firepower needed now and an energy refill. Special weapons last for a limited time. In fleet battles, destroy gun emplacements to raise the destruction rate. Use energy-consuming Mega Crash or a limited loop to escape dangerous volleys.
