How to Play Atari Baseball
Quick start
- Start with the illuminated player button.
- Press it to select the indicated pitch or batting approach.
- Use that same button to pitch or swing during play.
- After a hit, roll diagonally toward first base and continue around the diamond.
Controls
Each player has a trackball and one multipurpose button. Batting: select swing, start swing, or slide according to the play phase. Fielding: select pitch or throw the ball. Roll the trackball to move fielders and runners; the runner follows the direction toward the next base.
Atari Baseball — About this game
Atari Baseball recreates baseball on a black-and-white diamond with trackball control. Select a batting approach or pitch before each delivery, then time the action with the same multipurpose button. Batters can choose a left or right swing or bunt; pitchers can choose a fastball, change-up, curve or knuckleball. After making contact, roll toward the next base to advance the runner. Three strikes make an out, four balls award a walk, and three outs change sides.
