How to Play Arabian (Atari)
Quick start
- Learn the prince’s movement around the opening rigging.
- Kick a bird or Oscar blocking the route.
- Collect a lettered jug before its genie fully materialises.
- Follow the letters in order when a safe route permits.
Controls
The eight-way directional control moves the prince, including jumps, crawling and climbing where the scene permits. Kick attacks the birds and Oscars. A fully materialised genie above a jug is dangerous even when that jug contains the next letter.
Arabian (Atari) — About this game
Arabian (Atari) tells the prince’s rescue as pages of a book, with ship rigging, caves and flying carpets forming the path to the princess. Lettered jugs spell ARABIAN, and collecting them in order gives a larger bonus. A jug is safe only while its genie remains inside or has begun to appear; a fully materialised genie makes the same approach fatal. Kicks remove birds and the purple Oscar creatures, which can combine into larger threats. Learn the route to a letter before approaching its jug, then watch the genie rather than treating every container as a harmless collectible.
