How to Play Arkanoid (Phoenix Electronics Co. license)
Quick start
- Move the Vaus beneath the ball’s returning path.
- Keep returning the ball into destructible bricks.
- Catch a falling capsule when doing so will not lose the ball.
- Work around indestructible blocks until the formation is cleared.
Controls
The original arcade control is a rotary knob that moves the Vaus left and right. The action button fires the laser when that power-up is active; movement remains separate from the firing action.
Arkanoid (Phoenix Electronics Co. license) — About this game
Arkanoid (Phoenix Electronics Co. license) turns each wall of bricks into a problem of ball control. The Vaus moves along the bottom of the screen, returning a ball toward the formation above; letting it escape below costs a life. Ordinary bricks break quickly, tougher ones demand repeated hits and indestructible blocks reshape the routes available to the ball. Falling capsules can widen the paddle, slow the action, create additional balls or equip lasers. Chasing a useful capsule is tempting, but keeping the returning ball in play takes priority. Clear the destructible bricks to advance through new layouts toward DOH, with each rebound changing where the next opening will appear.
