How to Play Choplifter (unprotected)
Quick start
- Fly toward a prison and shoot its door open.
- Land clear of the escaping prisoners and let them board.
- Return up to eight passengers to base.
- Repeat while avoiding enemy fire and protecting the remaining prisoners.
Controls
Joystick: fly the helicopter. Fire: shoot. Rotate: change the helicopter’s facing. Land carefully to board prisoners and return them to base.
Choplifter (unprotected) — About this game
Sega’s arcade Choplifter turns rescue into a series of vulnerable landings under enemy fire. Shoot open the prisons, land without harming the freed prisoners, and carry them back to base in groups of up to eight. Returning prisoners also restores fuel. Tanks and aircraft make lingering near the ground dangerous, and friendly fire or careless rotor contact can kill the very people being rescued. Success requires protecting enough prisoners across repeated trips rather than merely destroying every enemy.
