How to Play Darius (Japan, rev 1)
Quick start
- Learn the forward weapon and ground-bomb coverage.
- Defeat coloured enemies for upgrade capsules.
- Take red for main weapon, green for bombs and blue for armour.
- After the giant warship, choose a route suited to your equipment.
Controls
Move the Silver Hawk with the joystick. A fires the main air weapon, B drops ground bombs. Red upgrades the main gun, green the bombs and blue the armour. Upgrades change coverage; armour absorbs a limited number of hits.
Darius (Japan, rev 1) — About this game
Fly across a wide scrolling battlefield against giant warships modelled on aquatic creatures. Forward missiles and arcing bombs cover different directions. Coloured enemies release red, green and blue capsules for main weapon, bombs and armour respectively. The main gun develops into laser and wave cannon, while bombs gain wider directions. Recheck your reach after upgrades and choose the next route according to your equipment and remaining armour.
