How to Play Dark Edge (Japan)
Quick start
- Select a fighter.
- Move around the opponent to learn the arena’s depth.
- Try a light punch or kick when close.
- Use Jump separately from joystick movement and track the new facing direction after each exchange.
Controls
The joystick moves through the arena’s eight directions. Use Light Punch, Heavy Punch, Light Kick and Heavy Kick to attack; Jump has its own action. Watch which side the opponent occupies as movement changes the fighters’ facing directions.
Dark Edge (Japan) — About this game
Dark Edge (Japan) lets fighters move around one another through the depth of its arena. Because the camera stays fixed, their relationship to the screen changes as they circle, making facing direction an active concern during each exchange. A separate jump action leaves the joystick free for movement, and light and heavy punches and kicks give several ways to approach an opening. The six regular fighters include a cyborg, a powered-suit worker and a mutated creature, each with distinct special attacks.
