Quick start
- Choose an aircraft and Doll and compare shots with the laser.
- Hold A and use the slower movement to thread between bullets.
- When the Hyper gauge fills, collect the item safely.
- Remember that B now prioritizes Hyper and plan your next escape space.
Controls
Move with the joystick. Tap A repeatedly for shots or hold A for the laser, which slows movement. B normally uses a bomb, but prioritizes Hyper when you hold a Hyper item. C provides automatic regular fire if enabled by the settings.
DoDonPachi Dai-Ou-Jou (Japan, 2002.04.05.Master Ver, 68k Label V101) — About this game
Choose one of two aircraft types and one of three Element Dolls in this vertically scrolling bullet-hell shooter. A fast craft with concentrated fire feels different from one with wide coverage, while the Doll changes how shots, lasers and bombs work. Holding A fires the laser and slows movement, letting you make precise adjustments while attacking tough enemies. Fill the Hyper gauge and collect the item that appears; the bomb button then gives Hyper priority. Hyper strengthens attacks, but enemy pressure becomes tougher afterward. Plan where to dodge after activation rather than treating it like an ordinary bomb.
