Dead Angle uses a crosshair and an over-the-shoulder silhouette to make enemy lines of fire visible. Mobsters move across the scene, and the player’s silhouette turns red when exposed to a shot. Ducking provides a brief defence, creating a rhythm of aiming, firing and taking cover rather than constantly firing from one position. The arcade game adds weapon pickups and grenades as the action moves through timed locations, with a boss after the required enemies have been removed. Accuracy becomes especially important in the final confrontation, where the enemy shields himself with a hostage.
