Deathsmiles (2007/10/09 MASTER VER) makes facing a deliberate decision: its witches can shoot left or right as enemies enter from both sides. Tapping a directional fire button produces the ordinary shot, holding it gives the focused attack, and holding both creates a lock-on area. Before each early stage, the route and difficulty rank shape the next challenge. Collecting enough score items prepares a temporary power-up, while bombs provide an emergency way through a dangerous pattern.
