How to Play Final Star Force (Japan, set 2)
Quick start
- Try movement and regular fire, then avoid hits to build the growth gauge.
- Collect capsules to try focused and wide weapons.
- Take a matching weapon capsule to replenish bombs and check your stock.
- Use bombs in danger to keep a lost life from undoing your growth.
Controls
Move with the eight-way joystick. Use the shot button to fire and the bomb button for the wide-area attack associated with your current weapon. Capsules change weapons. Bombs also replenish over time, so watch the stock display as well as the items.
Final Star Force (Japan, set 2) — About this game
Pilot Final Star II against a revived enemy in this vertically scrolling shooter. Your fighter grows stronger automatically as time passes, rather than relying on collecting large numbers of items. Survival builds firepower, but losing a life wipes out progress on the current growth gauge and can lower the weapon level, depending on the stage of growth reached. Capsules select a focused laser, a wide shot or a piercing spray gun; the bomb attack changes with the weapon. Collecting a capsule for your current weapon replenishes bombs, giving you a reason to keep it rather than switch. Dodge enemy fire and maintain that growth through all ten stages.
