How to Play Ninja Gaiden (US)
Quick start
- Learn Attack and Jump against an isolated foe.
- Use Grab beneath an overhead bar or rope.
- Try a hanging attack before dropping back down.
- Throw enemies into breakable scenery to reveal useful items.
Controls
Move with the eight-way directional control. Attack and Jump are separate actions. Grab, originally on top of the joystick, takes hold of an available overhead bar or tightrope for hanging movement and attacks.
Ninja Gaiden (US) — About this game
Ninja Gaiden (US) uses the ninja’s surroundings as part of its street fighting. Enemies thrown into telephone booths, signs or bins can reveal health, time or other rewards, and a found sword temporarily changes the ordinary attacks. An overhead grab provides another position for hanging kicks, while jump and attack actions support throws and evasive movement on the ground. Learn an attack from a hanging bar before dropping into a group, then knock a foe toward a breakable object when both the fight and the hidden reward make that route useful.
