How to Play Galaga (Namco rev. B)
Quick start
- Move left or right to evade the opening dives.
- Fire at the descending aliens.
- If a fighter is captured, preserve another life for the rescue.
- Destroy its carrier during a dive to form the double fighter.
Controls
Left/Right moves the fighter and Fire shoots upward. Rescue a captured fighter by destroying the Boss Galaga carrying it during a dive; doing so in the standing formation has a different result. The rescued pair has wider firepower and a larger collision area.
Galaga (Namco rev. B) — About this game
Galaga (Namco rev. B) makes a captured fighter a possible upgrade as well as a lost life. When a Boss Galaga returns with that ship, destroying the carrier during its dive rescues the fighter and joins it to the surviving craft. The resulting pair fires more shots but occupies a wider target area. Destroying the carrier while it remains in formation does not provide the same immediate rescue. Learn the normal sideways escape before attempting the capture, then wait for the diving carrier instead of firing blindly through the ship being recovered. Challenging stages offer a separate chance to hit complete incoming formations.
