How to Play Gate of Doom (US revision 1)
Quick start
- Choose a hero and learn the weapon’s range.
- Stop in a safe position before attacking.
- Collect recovery and magic items while avoiding traps.
- With a full magic meter, wait for the desired spellbook page before activating the spell.
Controls
Move and aim attacks in eight directions; movement stops while attacking. When the magic meter is full, press the spell action to activate the spell currently shown in the flipping book. The elemental transformation lasts until the meter is depleted.
Gate of Doom (US revision 1) — About this game
Gate of Doom (US revision 1) views its fantasy adventure from an isometric angle and gives each of four heroes a different answer to danger. The knight relies on a strong weapon, the wizard on magic, the bard resists poison and the ninja moves quickly. Movement and attacks work in eight directions, but a hero cannot move while attacking, making the timing of each strike important near traps or approaching enemies. When the magic meter is full, a flipping spellbook determines which transformation is currently available. Activating it at the right page turns the hero into an elemental form until the meter runs down.
