How to Play Golden Tee Golf II (Trackball, V1.1)
Quick start
- Insert a credit, press Start and choose the available course or player options.
- Read the hole, lie and distance, then move the joystick up or down to accept or change the selected club.
- Aim before swinging. Hold Swing for the backswing and release it for the forward stroke; a larger backswing produces more distance.
- Move left or right during the backswing when you need to hook or slice, then use the same process for approach shots and putts.
- Finish holes in as few strokes as possible; buy more strokes if the operator settings permit it.
Controls
Eight-way joystick: navigate choices, change the selected club and aim; moving left or right during the backswing shapes a hook or slice. Swing: hold for the backswing and release for the forward stroke. Start begins the purchased game. The exact V1.0 driver registers one Swing button and does not use the trackball controls found in later Golden Tee Golf II revisions.

Buy strokes, choose a course and club, aim the shot and complete the round under standard golf scoring. This exact set uses an eight-way joystick and a Swing button instead of the later trackball interface. Hold Swing to take the club back, release it for the forward stroke, and use joystick movement during the backswing to shape the ball.
