How to Play Hard Yardage (v1.10)
Quick start
- Choose your team.
- Use the joystick and Select to choose a formation, then a play.
- Press Select or pull the joystick back to snap the ball.
- Pass or hand off with Pass/Jump, then steer the runner.
- On defense, Select changes your player and Pass/Jump performs a super tackle.
Controls
Joystick: choose formations and plays, then move your player. Select: confirm the formation/play, snap on offense, or change the controlled defender. Pass/Jump: pass or hand off on offense; super tackle on defense. Pulling back on the joystick also snaps the ball. These are original functional labels.
Hard Yardage (v1.10) — About this game
NFL Hard Yardage is an American football game in which one to four players choose from 28 NFL teams. Each team has its own player and team attributes. Before a play, choose a formation and then a specific play; once the ball is snapped, move the controlled player to carry the attack upfield or position a defender. The same action button passes or hands off the ball on offense and performs a super tackle on defense. Changing the controlled defender lets you react to the developing play instead of following a single player throughout the drive.
