How to Play Hopping Mappy
Quick start
- Find a clear route toward a stolen treasure.
- Direct Mappy between the centres of the garden squares.
- Hold Acceleration on a clear stretch and release it for a tight turn.
- Gather the remaining treasures before the hurry warning brings faster pursuit.
Controls
Use the four-way joystick to choose the direction of the next bounce. Hold Acceleration to move twice as fast; release it for normal movement. Collect all eight treasures on an ordinary round. The garden edges do not wrap around. Avoid cats unless a temporary heart power-up has made them vulnerable.
Hopping Mappy — About this game
Hopping Mappy moves the police mouse onto a pogo stick in a garden divided into landing squares. Each ordinary round requires recovering eight stolen treasures while cats patrol straight or zigzag routes. The acceleration action doubles Mappy’s normal speed, but also makes a late turn harder to correct. After the hurry warning the cats speed up too, and taking still longer brings a faster pursuer. Planning the next landing square is therefore safer than trying to steer only when a cat is already alongside.
