Controls
Joystick: move and direct attacks, shots and passes. Button 1: shoot with the ball, tackle without it. Button 2: jump. Button 3: pass with the ball, use the weapon attack without it when available.

Heavy Smash (Japan version -2) turns handball into a futuristic contest where tackling an opponent is part of gaining possession. The teams differ in their strengths and special shots, with a power gauge charging the stronger attacks. Carrying the ball provides shooting and passing actions; without it, those actions become a tackle and a ranged weapon attack. Jumping creates another way to approach a shot. Passing into space and watching the gauge both matter when trying to overcome a defence willing to fight back.
