How to Play Heavy Unit (Japan, older)

Quick start

  1. Try the primary and auxiliary shots in ship form.
  2. Collect a T transformation item.
  3. Compare the robot’s frontal and homing attacks.
  4. Keep the larger body clear of terrain.

Controls

Move and use the separate primary and auxiliary fire actions. A T item switches between spacecraft and robot. The ship’s auxiliary weapon drops missiles, while the robot’s supporting attack homes toward targets.

Heavy Unit (Japan, older) — About this game

Heavy Unit (Japan, older) changes both its weapon coverage and its physical size through transformation. The default spacecraft’s forward gun and dropping auxiliary missiles give way to the robot’s laser and homing support after collecting a T item. Becoming larger also creates more exposure to enemies and the terrain. A lost life removes collected upgrades and returns the craft to a checkpoint, making recovery part of the next approach.
