Quick start
- Choose and order three fighters.
- Learn a short hop and the recovery after a roll.
- Hold A+B+C to charge the Power Gauge when safe.
- Use a desperation move under its gauge or flashing-life condition.
Controls
A: weak punch; B: weak kick; C: strong punch; D: strong kick. A+B rolls backward, while Forward+A+B rolls forward. Hold A+B+C to charge POW. C+D performs a body blow. A+B while being thrown attempts an escape.

The King of Fighters ’96 changes the space between its three-fighter teams with running, short hops and forward or backward emergency rolls. A roll can cross the opponent, but its ending still requires careful timing. Holding three attack actions charges the Power Gauge. A full gauge or flashing life permits a desperation move; meeting both conditions enables its stronger form. Learn a short approach and a safe recovery before spending the gauge on a guard cancel. The new Boss Team brings Geese Howard, Wolfgang Krauser and Mr. Big into the tournament.
