Quick start

Select a character and choose Power or Speed.
Learn the distance covered by normal sword attacks.
Time a Repel against an incoming strike.
Use the resulting opening before attempting longer mode-specific combinations.

Controls

A is weak slash, B strong slash, C weak kick and D Repel. Time D to meet an incoming attack; crouching directions change the low Repel. B+C performs the documented overhead slash in Power mode. Check the chosen style's command list for its combo and super conditions.

The Last Blade / Bakumatsu Roman - Gekka no Kenshi (NGM-2340) — About this game

The Last Blade places weapon duels in a supernatural vision of late nineteenth-century Japan. Before fighting, select Power or Speed to emphasize stronger attacks or chain combinations. Its defining defensive tool is Repel: a timed response can turn an opponent's approach into an opening for your own attack. That makes waiting and reading the other fighter useful alongside aggressive swordplay. Learn the chosen character's slash distance, then practise the timing of Repel before relying on more demanding combinations and power-dependent techniques.
