Quick start

Choose a swordsman and select Power or Speed.
Compare normal slashes and kicks at different distances.
Practise Repel against an approaching attack.
Learn recovery after a knockdown before building longer combinations.

Controls

A is weak slash, B medium slash, C weak kick and D Repel. Use D with the appropriate standing, crouching or airborne state to meet an attack. D also handles air or ground recovery in the documented knockdown situations. Mode-specific supers have gauge and health requirements.

The Last Blade 2 makes sword style a strategic choice before the first exchange. Power emphasizes stronger hits, while Speed opens chain combinations, giving the same swordsman a different approach to pressure and punishment. Repel provides an active answer to an incoming attack instead of relying entirely on blocking, and the sequel extends defensive options into the air and into recovery from a knockdown. Learn the chosen style's normal attacks, then practise one defensive response before adding the more demanding powered techniques.
