How to Play Lemmings (US prototype)

Quick start

Inspect the drop from the entrance and locate the exit.
Assign a blocker if the group needs holding back.
Use building or digging to prepare a route.
Release the group only when the next section is safe.

Controls

Guide the selection cursor with the arcade joystick or trackball and assign a skill to a chosen lemming. Builders, diggers, blockers, climbers and floaters alter how the group reaches the exit. Use fast-forward after checking the route is safe.

Lemmings (US prototype) — About this game

Lemmings (US prototype) turns a stream of automatically walking creatures into a rescue puzzle. Assigning a digger, builder, blocker or other role alters the route before the following lemmings reach it. Floating and climbing provide further ways around a drop or wall, while a poor assignment can create danger for the whole line. The arcade version adds a fast-forward option for stretches where the planned route is already safe.
