How to Play Lunar Lander (rev 2)
Quick start
- Choose a difficulty and locate a marked landing site.
- Rotate the lander to aim its thrust.
- Apply thrust to reduce the descent and sideways speed.
- Return upright for a soft landing; use Abort early if the approach becomes unsafe.
Controls
Rotate Left/Right buttons: change orientation. Thrust handle: vary engine thrust. Abort: apply a strong upward escape burst at a heavy fuel cost. Difficulty selection changes the landing and movement challenge.

Lunar Lander (rev 2) asks for a controlled arrival rather than simply reaching the ground. Rotation directs the module’s thrust, and the thrust handle changes how strongly it fights gravity and sideways motion. Flat landing sites carry different multipliers, with smaller targets offering a greater reward for a safe approach. The close view near the surface helps judge the final descent, but every correction spends fuel. Abort can rescue a bad approach with a powerful upward burst, at a substantial fuel cost.
