Legend of Makai (World) places a sword-carrying warrior in a fantasy adventure to rescue a kidnapped princess. Its stages branch through doors and locked passages rather than providing only a straight run to the right. Keys open the way, while shops sell weapons and magical items that change the hero’s options. Townspeople and shop owners also provide hints to the stage’s mysteries. A life bar allows recovery from some mistakes, but the stage time limit encourages turning those clues into a route instead of wandering indefinitely.
