Mach-9 (bootleg of Vulgus) is an exact registered version in this game family. Vulgus sends its spacecraft through alternating planetary surfaces and space fields without a conventional stage-ending structure. The ordinary gun has unlimited ammunition, while the separate cannon consumes a limited stock replenished by POW items. Formations make the powerful weapon useful for more than emergency defence, since lining up several enemies can increase its scoring value. Surviving depends on balancing aggressive fire with room to dodge as the repeating journey becomes increasingly difficult. Version-specific changes to characters, stages, timing, difficulty, balance, graphics or hidden content are not inferred where the registration does not document them.
