Three identical pieces clear when aligned horizontally, vertically or diagonally, while a star substitutes for another piece. Clearing the required number of lines fills the Goal bar and extends the remaining time, so a tidy field without enough progress is still in danger. Two players can race simultaneously. Look for a diagonal completion as well as an obvious column before placing the pair, then use a star where it advances the current quota rather than simply filling an empty corner.
