How to Play Matrimelee / Shin Gouketsuji Ichizoku Toukon (NGM-2660 ~ NGH-2660)

Quick start

Choose a fighter and test the light attacks at safe range.
Hold Back to guard an approaching strike.
Watch the Stress reserve and the red recoverable life.
With Reiji facing right, try Down, Down-Right, Right + Punch for his projectile.

Controls

A = light punch, B = light kick, C = strong punch, D = strong kick. Hold Back to guard, press A+B to roll forward or Back+A+B to roll backward. Reiji facing right: Geki Shou Hadou Ha = ↓↘→ + A/C; Ryuen Shou = →↓↘ + A/C. Mirror directions when facing left. Stress Shot costs one level, Ippatsu Ougi two and Kinjite three.

Matrimelee / Shin Gouketsuji Ichizoku Toukon (NGM-2660 ~ NGH-2660) — About this game

Matrimelee builds its Stress reserve through uncomfortable exchanges rather than simply rewarding a successful hit. Taking or blocking attacks and having an attack guarded can fill the meter; each completed level produces a protective outburst. The reserve funds three grades of super technique. A recoverable red part of the life bar adds another consideration, as avoiding further damage gives some lost health a chance to return.
