How to Play Mayday (set 3)
Quick start
- Learn the separate forward and backward firing actions.
- Watch for ground threats as well as approaching ships.
- Use Mayday when slower action will help you escape danger.
- Avoid cavern walls while clearing the wave and advancing to the next planet.
Controls
Use the eight-way joystick to move. There are separate forward-fire and backward-fire buttons, plus a Mayday button that temporarily slows the action. Use the appropriate firing direction for enemies on either side.
Mayday (set 3) — About this game
Mayday (set 3) sends a ship across a scrolling planetary surface with weapons facing both forward and backward. Waves must be destroyed to move on, but the environment can be as threatening as the attackers: cavern walls are solid obstacles and ground-level enemies can fire upward. A dedicated Mayday action briefly slows the on-screen action, offering a chance to handle a crowded situation. Use the direction of each gun and the available flying space together, rather than assuming that every threat will arrive from ahead.
