How to Play Mortal Kombat II (rev L3.0)

Quick start

Learn High/Low Punch, High/Low Kick and Block.
Try Down plus High Punch for an uppercut.
Use Back plus Low Kick for a sweep.
As Liu Kang, try Forward, Forward plus High Punch.

Controls

Use the four named punch/kick buttons and the separate Block. Down plus High Punch uppercuts; Back plus Low Kick sweeps. Liu Kang’s Forward, Forward plus High Punch fires high, while Low Punch fires low.

Mortal Kombat II (rev L3.0) takes the fighters into Shao Kahn’s Outworld tournament with four attack buttons and a dedicated Block. Uppercuts and sweeps provide common answers alongside each character’s specials, such as Liu Kang’s high and low fireballs or Kung Lao’s guided hat. The best-of-three duel asks for a different response to an airborne rival than to a low approach. Learn Block and the common sweep before pursuing a special, then select the fireball’s height instead of repeating an attack the opponent is already avoiding.
