Quick start

Choose a character and a boss route.
Hold Fire to prepare a charged shot.
Use Down+Jump to slide or dash out of danger.
Try a defeated boss’s weapon against a suitable later opponent.

Controls

Fire shoots; hold it to charge and release a stronger blast. Jump jumps, and Down+Jump performs the character’s slide or dash. Weapon Change cycles the acquired Robot Master weapons.

Mega Man: The Power Battle (CPS2, USA 951006, SAMPLE Version) turns the Robot Master encounters into an immediate series of boss duels. Mega Man, Proto Man or Bass chooses a route containing six familiar opponents before the Wily battles. Winning provides the defeated robot’s weapon, and another boss may be weak to that new attack. The ordinary arm cannon charges while Fire is held, while Down plus Jump performs the character’s dash or slide. Learn a boss pattern before spending the acquired weapon, then compare its effect with the charged ordinary shot.
