How to Play Marvel Super Heroes Vs. Street Fighter (Japan 970707)

Quick start

Choose two fighters and begin with ordinary attacks.
Call the reserve with Medium Punch + Medium Kick.
Tag with Heavy Punch + Heavy Kick when a replacement is useful.
Build two gauge levels before the team combination.

Controls

Use Light, Medium or Heavy Punch and Light, Medium or Heavy Kick. Double-tap forward/back for a dash. Down then Up performs a Super Jump. While grounded, Heavy Punch + Heavy Kick tags the reserve fighter, who recovers health while inactive. With two gauge levels, quarter-circle forward + Heavy Punch + Heavy Kick performs a team combination. Medium Punch + Medium Kick calls a reserve assist without replacing the active fighter. Press all three Punch buttons during a block for Advancing Guard. The reserve must still be alive for team actions. Launcher-follow shortcuts depend on the selected control mode.

Marvel Super Heroes vs. Street Fighter puts two fighters on each side, with a separate life gauge for each teammate. The off-screen partner can be called for a Variable Assist without replacing the active character, making support timing part of ordinary pressure and combinations. Winning means defeating the opposing team, while a time-out compares the health remaining. The arcade route ultimately brings the team against Apocalypse and Cyber-Akuma. Learn to support the current fighter before treating the second character as only a replacement: an assist creates an opening while keeping the active character in position.
