Quick start

Controls
On foot, A shoots, B jumps and C throws a grenade; D is unused in the documented arcade layout. Press B near an available vehicle to enter. In the Metal Slug, A fires, B jumps and C uses the cannon; down+C throws a grenade and down+B exits. A+B triggers its self-destruct attack, so avoid pressing that pair casually.

Metal Slug X revisits the earlier military adventure with a reworked arsenal and rearranged opposition. Enemy Chaser, Iron Lizard, Super Grenade and other added weapons provide new ways to deal with a crowded screen, while changed placements make remembered routes worth checking again. On foot, shooting, jumping and grenades handle the immediate fight; entering a Slug introduces vehicle-specific attacks. Learn the current weapon's behaviour before charging ahead, and treat a familiar-looking location as another encounter to read rather than a guarantee of the old timing.
