How to Play Ougon no Shiro (Japan)
Quick start
- Move Left/Right to establish sword range.
- Use Up/Down to raise or lower the shield.
- Choose High, Middle or Low Attack against an opening.
- After armour breaks, keep the shield over that exposed area.
Controls
Left/Right moves the fighter. Up/Down adjusts the shield; its ordinary position is the middle. Three separate attack actions strike high, middle and low. A hit removes armour from that area, and another hit there can kill. Rapidly moving the shield Up/Down can produce temporary force-field protection during the projectile passages.

Ougon no Shiro (Japan) is an exact registered version in this game family. Gladiator makes the height of an attack as important as its timing. Three sword actions strike high, straight or low, while the joystick raises or lowers the shield independently. A successful hit breaks armour at that location; another hit to the exposed area is fatal. The castle alternates duels with passages of incoming projectiles, so the same shield must answer both a rival’s feint and a hazard approaching during the walk forward. Version-specific changes to characters, stages, timing, difficulty, balance, graphics or hidden content are not inferred where the registration does not document them.
